KAMIKAZA
BAND
Kamikaza was formed in Sarajevo in October 2005, driven by youthful passion and persistence, presenting original music from the very beginning. Only three weeks after forming, the band played its first live show at the Freshmen Party of the Faculty of Philosophy, marking the start of a series of energetic club performances. In 2006, Kamikaza recorded their first studio Track “Lovac na Kupida” (Cupid Hunter), a rock ballad that soon became a hymn of the underground. The same year brought festival appearances, international collaborations, and the release of “Making Babies”, a semi-acoustic EP produced by Zoran Vasilić. Their first studio album, Radio Hypnosis, was recorded as a prize for winning the Heineken Festival in Kiseljak and produced by Josip Vukoja 2006.
Over time, the band faced inevitable changes. Guitarist Abdulah (aka Miralem) Višća and bassist Zlatan Džanović left the band, but new energy soon followed with Abdulkerim Popaja on solo guitar and Darko Hrgić on bass guitar. This marked the birth of a renewed Kamikaza sound. In February 2008, the band recorded the single “Pozdrav domovino” (Greetings Homeland), written as the anthem for the Student Festival “Ventil" and created three new Songs never recorded and published. After nearly 15 years, Kamikaza’s story stands as a testament to resilience, friendship, and the enduring spirit of good music born in Sarajevo.
